Stress Kills

Every single person has their own forms of stress. It is what a person does with that stress that determines outcomes.

The freelance world has some unique forms of stress, and in today’s post, we will look at some of them, and how I keep cool, calm and collected.

Freelancing is a business, and like any business, there are certain issues that will arise on any given day:

  • Will I have enough money to pay the electric bill?
  • Will this client pay me on time?
  • Can I get all this work done by the deadline?
  • Is this job against my morals?
  • Will this internet please work properly?
  • Why did my computer just shut down?
  • My family is saying I don’t spend enough time with them?

It can go on and on….

I will revert back to when I worked in a high pressure telemarketing/sales job. I was a top rated telemarketer, often bringing home checks that amounted to $1,200-1,500 per week. I started having a load of stress via different avenues and my paychecks started dropping drastically. I didn’t know why until I spoke with my mentor, my boss and my friend: Joe Schuette. Joe retrieved the fact that I was allowing my personal stress to follow me to work. It showed in my voice over the phone. It came across even without my speaking. How we sit, walk and look can show just how much stress we have in our lives.

So how did I overcome this?

First, I prayed to Almighty God a lot. I overloaded myself with positive messages every chance I could. On my way to work, I put away the heavy metal music and listened to uplifting music. This all worked. I did better at work, and I found the best ways to deal with the stress in my life.

Guess What?

The stress is always going to be there? When you decided to take on a freelance business, it didn’t mean you wouldn’t have stress. Remember that if you are always worried, it will reflect in your freelance tasks.

Before you start working on your business each day, I suggest you help yourself. Do what you have to do to gain a

Positive Mental Attitude

Trust me….you will deal with the stress you have in better ways, and your clients will love the material you provide them.

“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
