Stressed Or Blessed?

Yesterday seemed to move to quickly.

As a freelancer, I am loaded with a variety of tasks that need to be completed. It seemed like there were not enough hours in the day yesterday, but I completed what I wanted just before midnight.

Yes, just before midnight and I started early in the day.

I awoke this morning with that same stress I went to bed with. Let’s see:

  • Feed the pets
  • Make coffee
  • Research
  • Write
  • Write
  • Research
  • More Research
  • Wait, what about my blog? I need to post on my blog!

That is what I am doing now…and it is helping me relieve the stress.

Yes, I have articles that are due, but guess what? I am not stressed. They will get done and I will not allow stress to overwhelm me because:

I am blessed!

I have steady pay coming in from my freelance business.

There are many people who cannot afford to eat.

I have a beautiful and loving mate.

There are many who are lonely.

I have a bed to sleep in…when I can sleep… and I live on an island that many people dream their whole lives of doing.

So why be stressed?

Why do I tell you this?

It is easy to get caught up in stress. As freelancers, we can often find ourselves in this frame of mind, but do we stop and look at how we are blessed?

I have had to do that today.

I just added some hours to the day

While many people would say adding hours to a day are impossible, I disagree.

By realizing, and viewing my blessings, I will perform in a calm and rational way. In doing so, the work will flow smoother, and I will have time to enjoy life’s pleasures too.

Final thoughts

I am now going to go back to researching and writing, but first, I need to go tell someone how much they are a blessing to me.

Yes Maggie…I am blessed by God with you.
