Every once in awhile I run across something exceptional on the internet, and that is what happened just recently.
I saw this cool infographic and in communicating with my new friend Connor, he agreed to let me share it with LancerLife readers.
So, here is an introduction from Connor (David) followed by the infographic, and be sure and visit their website over at My Kind Of Monday.
How to Survive Working from Home
Remember that time you first passed your driving test and there was an overwhelming sense of freedom? That’s a bit like what it feels like going freelance and deciding to work from home.
The flexibility of being able to choose your own working hours and set your own deadlines are hugely appealing for many people. Done right, freelancing is the ideal scenario.
However, the reality is, working from home isn’t as easy as it first seems to most. Firstly, there’s suddenly a lack of accountability, with only yourself (or clients) to answer for, it can become hard to get your head in the game and knuckle down.
When you’re employed, you have all the tools for your job handed to you on a plate. Working from home? You need to watch the budget as you attempt to gather all the resources you need to perform your work.
Of course, you don’t have the cost of expensive office space, but sometimes working from home can get lonely and you long for that buzzing, sociable environment you once had.
This is not in anyway a pitch to put you off freelancing and working from home; far from it. However, it is important to recognize and stumbling blocks you may face so that you’re well prepared to tackle them head on.
That’ why My Kind of Monday created this infographic, on how to survive working from home. Follow this guide, and you’ll be thriving instead of merely surviving.
