What Do You Believe In?

I believe that life means: You Have To Have Something To Believe In.

Now didn’t someone write a song with that idea? Yes, and I just heard it on the radio yesterday which gave me inspiration to write this post.

Before I get into this post, enjoy Poison doing Something To Believe In:

As a freelancer, what do you believe in?

I would hope that the first answer that would come to your tongue would be ME.

Because to do what we do, we must believe in ourselves. That means you need:

  • A purpose
  • Confidence
  • Dreams
  • Ambition
  • and No fear

What is your purpose?

Whether you are a new freelancer or an experienced freelancer, it is important that you define your purpose.

Why are you doing this?

How are you changing the world?

What problems are you solving?

I suggest you take a moment and define your purpose. I say this because when you have a purpose, you will nullify any chances of quitting or giving up.

Are you confident?

This is a core principle of believing in yourself. When someone asks if you can, do you “him-haw,” with an answer, or do you tell the client YES, for the correct amount of money?

Just to put that in perspective, I have created articles on subjects that I had never even heard of until the client mentioned it.

Did that stop me?

NO, because research is my friend.

Do you have dreams?

Without any dreams, you have essentially committed mental suicide.

Greg Boudonck

I really enjoy what Gloria Steinem said on this subject: “Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.”

So don’t stop dreaming!

Ambition???

No matter what type of business you have, without ambition, you are on the road to failure.

You need a lot of ambition to be a freelancer.

No Fear!!!

Let me ask you a simple question… If Donald Trump called you today and asked you to do some freelance work, how would you handle the call?

Would you be scared?

With No Fear, I would say “Sure Donnie (well maybe not Donnie), I can do that and have it completed by [Date & Time]. The charge will be $___, and I normally ask for ½ down, but since I know where you live, I can wait until the job is complete.”

So, what do you believe in?

I hope that this post helped inspire you in your freelance journey.

Believe in yourself and you are on the high road to freelance success.
